How to request permanent SwyxWare licenses

Summary:

When installing SwyxWare limited licenses (30 days) will be entered first. This article describes what to do to get permanent licenses.

Information:

A permanent SwyxWare license is coupled with the hardware it is running on. Therefore it is necessary to create a license request from the installed limited license. After Swyx receives this license request it will generate a permanent license (being only valid for this hardware) and sends this back to the customer. All this must be done within the 30 days the limited keys are valid for because after this periode of time the limited license will become invalid and no phone calls are possible any more.

How to create a license request

Open the Properties of the SwyxServer within the SwyxWare Administration and select the Licenses page. Here you'll find an overview of all installed licenses (limited or permanent). In this example there are only limited licenses present:

Click the button Request... button to get a list of all installed limited licenses. Within this list you can select the licenses you want the request to be created for. Per default all limited licenses are selected.

Using the Next > button you will be asked for details about your person/company.

We would like to know on which way the SwyxWare found it's way to your machine so on the following page we would like to ask you for some datails about the dealer your brought the SwyxWare from.

You will see again a list of all keys this license request will be created for.

There are two different ways this license request will be sent to Swyx:

                                  send request by email to Swyx

• it will be sent automatically by email (with a copy to you)
• it will be stored as a single fileSoftwareLicenseRequest.slfon your harddisk and you have to sent this file to Swyx using the following email address: license@swyx.com

As long as you haven't clicked on the Finish button nothing will happen, no request will be generated and no email will be sent. Please sent your license request to the above email address only !

How to install a permanent license ?

After your license request has reached Swyx, we will generate a permanent license and sent it back to you via email. This email will have two attached files:SoftwareLicenseFile.slf
SoftwareLicenseFile.zipThere are email servers and email clients around having problems with the MIME coding of the slf file. So, if you encounter any problems using the slf file, simply extract the slf file from the attached zip file and you this for the following steps.

One of these license files must be applied to the SwyxWare.Open the Properties of the SwyxServer within the SwyxWare Administration and select the Licenses page.

Enter or select the slf file you have previously stored on your harddisk (either the directly attached or from the zip file extracted one):

You will get a list of all permanent license within the license file:

Click the Finish button to add these licenses to your SwyxWare:

                   The license was added successfully

The license overview will display now all licenses as permanent licenses.
