Summary

The interaction between Jabra headsets, Yealink EHS40 adapter and Yealink T5 series desktop phones can lead to audio quality issues in the headset.

Yealink has released a new firmware for the EHS40 adapter that solves this problem.

Information

Cordless headsets from leading headset manufacturers (Jabra, Poly, Epos) with EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) connectivity can be connected to the USB port of a Yealink T5 series desktop phone using the EHS40 adapter.

When connecting a Jabra headset, in some cases there may be a significant degradation of the audio quality in headset mode (in handset and handsfree mode the audio quality is unchanged).

Yealink has released a firmware upgrade for the EHS40 adapter which solves this issue.

The upgrade cannot be done on the phone itself, but must be done via an appropriate upgrade tool on a Windows computer.
