The information in this article applies to the following products:
- SwyxPhone L62
- SwyxPhone L64
- SwyxPhone L67
- Swyx 14.25
SUMMARY
With Swyx 14.25, firmware update management for the SwyxPhone has been integrated into Swyx's Firmware Information Service (FIS). However, older firmware versions of the L6-series do not support this update path via https. These phones must therefore be updated to the latest firmware before updating to Swyx 14.25!
L7 series phones are not affected.
This article provides an overview of the affected firmware versions and associated Swyx versions
INFORMATION
With Swyx 14.25, the update and firmware distribution mechanism for SwyxPhone via FTP server has been replaced by the proven FIS and, as a result, by firmware download via https. The aim of this measure is to standardise the firmware management of all end devices supported by Swyx. The old update mechanism via FTP is no longer available.
However, firmware downloads via https are not supported by older firmware versions (V1 R5.x.x and older) of the L6 series. Before updating to Swyx 14.25, you should therefore check the firmware version of all SwyxPhones and update them to the latest version if necessary. The affected firmware versions have been outdated for years, so an update is highly recommended for reasons other than those mentioned above.
Note: The firmware version can be read directly on the telephone or in the list of active devices in the MMC or SCC (from Swyx 14.25). Further information on firmware updates for SwyxPhone can be found in the Swyx MMC Administration Console manual.
An overview of the supported firmware versions for SwyxPhone can be found in the Help Center article: SwyxPhone Firmware Overview from Swyx 13.
Workaround: If the Swyx update to version 14.25 has already been carried out and an update via FTP is no longer possible, the phones can be updated manually via their web interface.
